Confirmed: Salman Khan to Host Grand Finale in January

There are reports that reality show "Bigg Boss 8" would get a month-long extension and director Farah Khan would replace Salman Khan as the new host.

But according to the official website of Colors, the grand finale will take place in the first week of January itself.

The official website in their report said that the grand finale will take place on 3 January.

"Wish Salman Khan a very happy birthday in the most creative and crazy way you can think of and that wish would get you a chance to be a part of the grand finale of Bigg Boss on 3rd January 2015," the statement from the official website read.

There has been no confirmation yet but if the official website is anything to go by, then the show will get over in two weeks.

According to reports, Farah will not replace Salman, but instead will host another special part of "Bigg Boss".

"The grand finale will happen as scheduled in January with Salman. However, from there Farah will host the show for another five weeks but not with the same contestants of season 8. Selected participants from all the previous seasons of Bigg Boss will be in the house once again. Of course, a few from the current season may also be there," a source told Absolute India.

Meanwhile, ex-contestants Rahul Mahajan and Imam Siddique, who were rumoured to enter the house as wild card entry, have denied the reports.

Earlier this week, Rahul rubbished the rumours of his re-entry in the "Bigg Boss" house.

"It's not true. I had gone to the house for one episode because I love Bigg Boss, but that's that. Even though I enjoyed myself, I find this season very boring. There could have been a lot of entertainment than there is," Rahul told Deccan Chronicle.

Even Imam told the daily that he has rejected the offer and will not enter the "Bigg Boss" house this year.

"I'm not doing Bigg Boss because they have not yet accepted my remuneration request of INR 1 Crore net," he told DC.

'Salman sir was like a God for all of us in Bigg Boss 8'

Shakuni of Mahabharata and peacemaker in Bigg Boss Season 8, Praneet Bhatt is the latest contestant to be evicted from the TV reality show. 

After 13 weeks inside the Bigg Boss house, he says the eviction “was not a surprise for me. For the past two weeks I was walking on a loose thread and I somehow knew this was going to happen.”

He occasionally snapped at people, especially at Gautam Gulati, but says he doesn’t regret it.

“Gautam is like my younger brother. If you are close to someone and they do something wrong, as an elder you will point it out and give him your advice. That is what happened between me and Gautam.”

Puneet, he said, “is like my elder brother; Pritam is my friend and Karishma is like my sister. I connected with most of the contestants.”

The actor wore the same clothes for four days after his entry to the house and admits he didn’t bathe for two days.

“It was itchy, but I had to control it through my brain. I washed my underwear, dried it and wore the same one. 

“Finally after four days Bigg Boss sent my underwear in an envelope after my request. It was one of the toughest times in the house”

Was he uncomfortable living in an aircraft during the initial days of Bigg Boss?

“The contestants this season are very good at heart. Though the flight was compact, the housemates were in survival mode.

“They were of the opinion that the flight had had a crash landing and we had to help each other. In fact, it was a cosy environment; we motivated each other. It was a good experience.”

Praneet bears no grudges against his fellow contestants.

“I entertained the viewers as Praneet Bhatt and not as any character. I am glad that I have come out of the house as a better human being.

“Due to circumstances like shortage of food and sleepless nights, we fought with each other. What people suffer in a lifetime, I have faced in 13 weeks.”

An integral part of the P3G gang (Praneet Bhatt, Puneet Issar, Pritam Singh, Gautam Gulati), Praneet appeared to be patient.

“P3G happened in the early days of the show. We connected as we have the same thinking. We had the same opinion about certain issues. We always tried to find constructive solutions for problems. The group was named by people... we were just friends.”

He wants Pritam Singh, Puneet Issar or Gautam Gulati to win.

“Puneet has worked very hard. He called everyone bacha and fed them and took care of them like an elder brother. He gave emotional support too when it was required.

“Pritam is a sensible guy and doesn’t get influenced by situations. He has a mind of his own and takes a stand when required.

“Gautam is a genuine guy and good at heart,” says Praneet.

He says he’s “a huge fan” of the show’s host, Salman Khan.

“I get mesmerised by him. I've never seen a host who sends food for the contestants every Saturday. We have limited food to eat in the Bigg Boss house. Salman sir was like a god for all of us during that time."

Now that he is out of Bigg Boss, Praneet wants to meet his parents and girlfriend.

“She is from theatre and a better actor than I am. Bolna padtha hai, kya karay,” he laughs

Our take - In 2013, Ajit was arrested on charges of Spot-fixing during IPL 6 by the Delhi police along with S Sreesanth and Ankeet Chavan, who played alongside him for Rajasthan Royals. Naturally, his controversial past will become the talk of the house at one point of time.

Upen Patel

Claim to fame – After having a successful run in modelling, Upen made his big Bollywood debut with Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor starrer 36 China Town, for which he also won Best Debut awards.

Happy New Year promotions will happen on Bigg Boss 8: Salman Khan

Bollywood's friend turned foes Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's relationship has always been the talk of the town.

After the much hyped hug at Baba Siddiqui's Iftar party this year, the two have been seen praising each other at different occassions. This time the Dabangg Khan has gone one step ahead and announced to promote Happy New Year on Bigg Boss 8.

During the launch of Bigg Boss season 8, Salman said he will promote Happy New Year on his show. He said, "Yes, Happy New Year promotions will happen on Bigg Boss why will they not come? It is their decision and the PR activity has already started here."

The 48 year old superstar also joked about good friend Aamir Khan who had some time back challeged him to do what he did the PK poster.

Salman said, "This time I will say PK. Aamir has lost his transmitter and now is roaming around with an i-pod."

Well, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan both have releases lined up and it will be interesting to see if they both decide to promote their films on Bigg Boss 8 this time.

It can’t get bigger than this. Followers of reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ season 8 have been waiting with bated breath to catch all the masala-loaded action on the small screen. But for diehard fans of Salman Khan, it’s a different case altogether.
