In recent years, the promotion of a movie will have direct effect on its dynamics at the Box Office. Every filmmaker will make sure that he will shell out a hefty sum on the publicity of their films so that they will reap good prospects from them. Our Superstar Salman Khan's films are not exception to this trend. Despite having huge star power, the actor has spent out heavily on the promotion of his films in the past. But the actor seems to have changed his practice for his latest outing Jai Ho.
Salman Khan has planned to display his humane side to the woo the audience for his upcoming movie Jai Ho, which is scheduled to release in theatres across the globe on January 24. The actor, who used to spend nearly Rs 15 crores on the promotion of his movies in the past, has decided to cut down this cost by more than 65% for his latest out. Instead, he had planned to use that amount on the charity works, which may be another way of doing publicity of his film.
Eros International, which is the distributor of this Sohail Khan-directed flick, had initially reserved Rs 16 crores as the budget for the promotion of Jai Ho. But Salman Khan reportedly requested Sunil Lulla, from Eros International, to reduce the budgets for its publicity. This Mumbai-based motion picture production and distribution company cut short its estimated budget and made it Rs 6 crores.
Salman Khan has reportedly asked the bosses of Eros International use the money cut short in the budget of Jai Ho promotion and other excess amount for charity works. When most of the Bollywood Superstar are going out of their way to promote their films, our Sallu Miyan seems to be following Aamir Khan's no-promotions trend.
Going a step a ahead, he has decided to promote goodwill and welfare among the underprivileged. If his latest movie Jai Ho becomes successful at the Box Office, it will be a lesson for other stars to cut short on the lavish promotional budget in future. We wish all the success to this super-human being actor.
As part of Jai Ho promotion, Salman Khan appeared on several popular TV shows like Nach Baliye 6, Bigg Boss 7, Comedy Nights With Kapil Sharma and Dance India Dance.
